The DDA created its Public Art Advisory Board (PAAB) in October 2009 to oversee its public arts program and the growing appetite for public art in downtown Bradenton, a concept that came to light during the citizen-led Downtown by Design plan and reinforced by the Realize Bradenton cultural plan.

The board usually meets on the second Thursday of each month to consider public art projects, programs and other initiatives to beautify and culturally enhance downtown with public art displays. The meetings are open to the public.
